SUMMARY:Building Capacity for Community Land Access with Scenic Hudson
DESCRIPTION:596 Acres will join Scenic Hudson and its established network of land banks and land trusts to share strategies for facilitating community land access in the urban areas along the Hudson River\, north of NYC! We will share our origin and success stories\, followed by a workshop about how advocates upstate can put data about land\, and how to transform it\, into the hands of those best poised to lead and sustain its ongoing stewardship: that is\, those who live nearby. We will also share strategies for supporting grassroots campaigns for community land access. This is part of our land access advocacy network through which we cross-pollinate with groups that facilitate community land access in cities all over the world! \n
